According to recent data, the average UK household spends more on the nation’s favourite beverages than they would to protect their family if they bought a life insurance policy.
The ONS Family Spending survey 2018-19 shows that households spend an average of £6.50 a month on tea and coffee, compared to as little as £5 per month it could cost to protect loved ones with life cover.
What’s more, with Brits spending an average of £5.40 a week on takeaways and £8 per week on drinks out, it’s clear that life insurance is an affordable option for many.
Cheaper than you think
Life insurance can be an awkward topic – after all, nobody likes to think about the worst happening to them. However, as the coronavirus crisis has proved, no one knows what’s around the corner and buying life cover for as little as £5 a month could help to safeguard your family’s future and turn out to be the best decision you’ve ever made.
